BOUNTY

This week has brought me much, and I want to share! My final package arrived from my Secret Pal in SP9, the 'reveal' package so she's not secret anymore: go tell Jess at OneSassyTart she got it right again. Check out the lovelies she sent: a skein of Manos in the 'Moss' colorway I used for my dad's Christmas beanie; not one but two skeins of Lion Brand's 'Incredible' (the name of the yarn as well as an apt description), which is a tape yarn (I love tape yarns) in amazing shades of ocean blue; 2 skeins of Patons 'SWS' soy/wool yarn in a lovely rose/grey-brown color (I've been wanting to check out soy yarn), which I took with me last night to Purl 'n Hurl and scrumbled with for Day 105 of the Freeform Knitting 365 project; AND 4 Lindt dark (dark!!) chocolate bars. I'm in heaven! And all packed up in the cutest Canadian Forces Lunch Box. Thanks galore going out to Jess for being a great secret pal. Here's to keeping in touch with one another now that SP9 is over.

Another package arrived this week, chock full o' fibery goodness, this one from my fellow-freeformer Knitsocks in Austin. She gathered up lots of goodies that she thought I'd like for my Freeform365 project, and she sure gets me. There's furry eyelash yarns in pink and green; pink raffia; 3ply mohair and a complementary wool dk weight, both in deep shades of claret; 2 skeins of alpaca silk; variegated orange sock yarn; and both paillettes AND strung seed beads! Not to mention the huge pile of fiber (about 1.5 pounds, I'd estimate, at least) that wouldn't fit in the photo. She spoils me!

For Valentine's Day, Cole paid for my membership in Blue Moon Arts' 2007 Rockin' Sock Club membership, getting me an entire year of sock kits + extra goodies and participation in the KAL. I'm a sock virgin, so this seemed like a great way to (cough) pop my sock cherry. Did I just say that? Oh, yeah, I did! Six socks in oh-seven!

And today, my friend Jim stopped by to drop off my player's package for this weekend's 20th Annual Bigfoot Disc Golf Tournament, sponsored by our club, Par Infinity. Wish me luck and cross your fingers that it doesn't rain! I've been attending since 1996, but this is the first year I'm going to play in it. DFL, here I come!

    Hi;

    the jury is still out on SP10 - I had a great time in SP9, but I might wait for 11... who knows. I was just under the wire for joining SP9 (it was my first sp), so i might do a repeat of that. ;)
