It's not ALL knitting around here. Last Saturday was the 4th Annual Par Infinity Disc Golf Ice Bowl charity tournament, for which Cole is the Tournament Director (TD). I didn't play this year, but the photos show how much fun was had by all participants. The weather *almost* cooperated with a dusting of snow at the temporary course at Mad River Beach in Arcata. Temps ranged from about 25F to around 45F (note the ice sheets around Cole's boots in the first photo above), and unlike last year the winds didn't get above 10 mph. And this year it was dry!
Cole made beautiful trophies for 1st through 3rd place in each division (Pro Open, Am1, Am2, Goddess, and Masters) from scraps of recycled old-growth redwood and official Ice Bowl mini discs. These were far and away the nicest trophies Par Infinity has seen in awhile.
Approximately $500 was raised by the 36 participants in this year's Ice Bowl, which will be presented to the Sunny Brae Companion Animal Foundation, who provides a local pet adoption program and low-cost spay/neuter services.
