Cum On! Cumming, Georgia?!?

I cannot resist kitsch. Or craft. Or comedy. (Or cum, for that matter). But this is too much, in a good way. Did you know that Cheap Chic Weddings.com had a Toilet Paper Wedding Dress contest? I didn't think so. Oh, but they did, how they did! The winning entry, which is kinda purdy, was submitted by Stephanie Stutzenberger of, wait for it: CUMMING, GEORGIA. There's just something funny about t.p. and cumming used in a sentence together, no? Stephanie joins the ranks of last year's winners, and took home a $500 gift certificate for her creativity. What remains unclear is whether or not any of these dresses were actually worn during an exchange of vows. (Thanks to Craftzine.com for the link).

I know a town name Cumming is quite amusing to you and to those who do not live there....but the joke gets old.

I wanted to say that I was from Forsyth county but they specifically asked for the city name and I reluctantly told them, even though I knew that the toilet paper cum connection would be made.

    Oh well...$500.

  6. oh, stephanie, my sincerest apologies. although i was quite entertained, i failed to take your feelings into consideration. i'm sorry that you didn't also see that i was trying to point out what a creative endeavor both your dress and the contest are in my estimation. and 500 smacks is nothing to sneeze at (see? the pun, i cannot resist; it's not just a jiz joke thing).

but since i have offended, if you email me your mailing address (my address is in the sidebar) i will send you a handknit hat as a gesture of good faith.

    yours in crafting, velma

I wasn't offended. I was actually a little flattered that you put my pic in your blog. I appreciate the apology, although it was not needed. Thank you for the hat offer. If I looked any good in hats, I would take you up on it. However, for some reason, they dont work on me.

Good luck in all your future knitting and crafting endeavors.

  8. s, although i stick by my mantra of "if you think it's funny, blog it", i'm glad to hear that i didn't offend. keep crafting, and (i assume you made the dress because of impending nuptials) best wishes in your married life. cheers! (and come back for a visit any time)

I am blown away by the creativity of this idea.

I for one, can't get through a day without spilling something on myself. If your wedding dress is made out of toilet paper, even water could be extremely dangerous.

The wedding dress should have been well within the budget leaving more for the honeymoon!!
