I am Jason Patton. Or Am I? Isn't it weird when you find out there is someone else out there that shares your name? I think so. But this is just a little diversion before the real post: a guest Purl & Hurl Recap!!, written by our friend Jason (Jay) Patton, the knitter & Purl-n-Hurler, not the professional jockey Jason Patton pictured here. So, with no further ado, here's what Jay had to say about last night's Purl & Hurl.
"There were only three of us last night, however, we drew a big newbie crowd (from an HSU campus knitting club) of male knitters, who brought with them a rockin' band! The band played for us while we were there. Kat, Heather, and myself were overwhelmed with joy.
The Plaza Grill gratefully acknowledged Velma's hard work bringing in hungry knitters with several rounds of FREE drinks for all the Purl & Hurlers in the house (including the seven newbies). We all thanked the Grill with our gratitude, and apologized for not having a larger turnout.
There was also a birthday party for a group of people from our own Fabric Temptations there. We all got together and chatted about how all the problems of the world could be fixed if the aggressive violent men running countries would just take up knitting. To tell us how much they appreciated our solving the world's problems, each of us received a gift certificates (75 bucks each!) to spend on yarn at Fabric Temptations.
Following this, we went home.
Of course, since not a soul was there, we have no way to confirm any of these wild allegations. Perhaps we can reproduce this next week."
So, there you have it, folks. Purl & Hurl went on without Eileen & Velma. But let's try to get a better turn out next week, shall we?
(P.S. Greg Brown rocked last night, too.)
