Sweet Surrender

Had so much fun with last night's cocktail-o-rama, & I so wanted to capture a boozy photo for YIPWIP2010, I decided to do it again! My newest concoction:

Sweet Surrender
  • 1 1/2 parts Bourbon
  • 1/2 part Damiana
  • 1/4 part Cointreau
  • 1/4 part raspberry liqueur
Shake with ice, pour into chilled martini glass, garnish with a cherry, enjoy!

Not familiar with Damiana? It's an herbal-based liqueur made with the damiana plant (Turnera diffusa) that grows in Baja California, Mexico. As for the raspberry liqueur, I would have used Chambord if we weren't out of it, but the Rose's Blue Raspberry Infusion -- while very low-brow sounding -- is quite serviceable. This drink is quite sweet, but can be toned down by altering the ration of bourbon to liqueurs.

Salud!
