A Washcloth & a Rock

Saturday a package arrived from my sister- & brother-in-law, with fun Christmas goodies. I received my first-ever handknit gift since I learned to knit! And I have to admit, although I never 'got' the whole washcloth knitting craze before, now that I have one for myself I might just be the newest convert. So soft! So scrubby! So lovingly-made! Thank you Michelle!!

There were more treats inside, but my favorite is the heart-shaped rock they sent us. All through our relationship Cole has found and brought me what has become a small mountain of heart-shaped rocks; big ones, little ones, pretty ones, not-so-heart-shaped ones - all kinds. And they remembered this, and sent us one for our collection. I need to ask Michelle where they found it.

Simple pleasures: a cotton washcloth and a rock. We love you guys!

Glad you like the goodies! The rock was found at North Beach in San Clemente. The washcloth is my tribute to my grandmother that passed away a few months ago. She always made the most beautiful ones for all of us. They were different patterns and textures. I inherited all her needles and hooks. My uncle told me he was happy that I would carry on the tradition so I did my best to do so on a small scale this holiday. I have a long way to go to be anywhere near her skill level.
I have to tell you that you are awesome at photography. That picture makes me proud of my humble little washcloth! Thank you:)

    love you guys,
    M & V
